Development associate

 

Job Description:

The Development Associate is a valued position at the Community Center to support our fundraising and donor engagement activities. This position requires strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate with donors in a warm, compassionate and mission driven voice that aligns with the values of CCNW. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Key duties include gift processing and acknowledgement which fosters strong relationships with donors and financial reporting which supports and guides our fundraising efforts and organizational leadership.  

Development:·   

  • Manage donor database (Donor Perfect) including updates of records and generating reports, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and efficiency  
  • Prepare donor acknowledgement letters
  • Process gifts and expenses
  • Generate donor mailing lists and assist with the mailing of appeals and invitations
  • Administrative assistance to the Director of Development and Communications
  • Support the Board Development Committee meetings
  • Research new funding opportunities 

Events:

  • Assist in all aspects of event planning and execution including for our scholarship award ceremony, volunteer appreciation event and our annual Benefit
  • Manage event budgets and coordinate with vendors
  • Provide onsite assistance during events. 

Marketing:·       

  • Gather data, photographs and stories through engagement with CCNW team, that enhance appeals, requests, grant applications and reports
  • Assist with marketing materials for all media platforms, including social media posts.     
Position requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Power Point and Google Suite
  • Experience working with Donor Perfect is preferred
  • Financially responsible with a strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong communication skills both in writing and speaking with all constituents
  • Enthusiastic and good humored with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • A team player who collaborates closely with colleagues but can also work independently
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to details and ability to take initiative and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to adjust quickly and perform graciously when pulled in many directions
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Experience/familiarity with nonprofit work is a plus

This is an exempt salaried position, and reports to the Director of Development and Communications

Schedule: Full-time position; occasional weekends and evenings may be required.

Compensation commensurate with experience. $60,000 - $65,000
